Our school, the 2nd EPAL of Galatsi, in the frame of ERASMUS KA1 programme "All our students! All Unique, All Different", participated in a training seminar in Finland entitled "Migrants’ course: Let’s use ICT in teaching & learning of Newly-Arrived Migrants".
The programme was implemented by the European hosting partner organisation "Euneos" in English, from September 23 to September 29, 2018, at a large vocational high school, with 3000 undergraduates and 1,000 adult students in the Helsinki region of Vantaa, in collaboration with teachers and managers of this region for the integration of migrants and refugees in Finnish schools.
Guided tours were conducted in state-of-the-art laboratories and fully equipped building facilities of the Varia Vantaa Vocational College. The project was based on communication, exchange of views and interactive participation of learners in new digital technologies and their use as teaching tools. The digital tools taught during the seminar were as follows: Thinglink platform, Pic Collage, Drag and Drop, Videos, H5P, Pictures and Images, Quizlet, Kahoot, Pictures and Images, Camera pen, Seppo.io (Flash cards, augmented reality, simulators, e-Learning, virtual classes).
Three teachers of our school (Eleni Avramanti, Katerina Lykostrati and Angeliki Korres) participated in this training seminar, along with teachers from Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Slovenia and teachers from the prefectures of Pella and the Dodecanese (Kalymnos).
This is the second part of this Erasmus mobility programme in which our school participates after the completion of its first part in Malta. Specific actions will be organised to disseminate knowledge and efficient use of data in order to improve the quality of provided education to ALL our students, as they are all different but unique!
